YOUR IMPACT STARTS HERE
We're looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer who thrives on the shop floor and knows how to turn problems into process improvements to join our team in Kansas City, MO. In this role, you'll drive continuous improvement, support equipment and process reliability, and help scale operations through lean principles and standardization. You'll work closely with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to improve productivity, troubleshoot issues, and support new equipment installations - from optimizing plant layout to building preventative maintenance programs, keeping the facility running efficiently and safely. This is not a desk-only role - you'll be actively engaged in daily manufacturing operations, providing technical direction, solving real-time issues, and keeping processes aligned with quality, safety, and performance standards.
WHAT YOU'LL BUILD & OWN
Continuous Improvement & Standardization
  • Implement continuous improvement through engineering concepts and lean principles to enhance productivity, eliminate waste, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and planning teams to support process improvements and standardization across manufacturing sites
  • Develop solutions to complex and unique problems requiring independent judgment and ingenuity to modify procedure standards related to plant layout, design, and construction
  • Ensure the LEAN program is properly implemented and maintained across the facility

Equipment & Maintenance Support
  • Provide technical support during new equipment installation, commissioning, and testing
  • Assist with first-pass troubleshooting, minor repairs, and establishing preventative maintenance programs to keep industrial machinery and equipment running smoothly
  • Provide daily technical direction and prioritization to the maintenance team to ensure alignment with production goals and operational efficiency
  • Help analyze root causes for manufacturing issues and resolve them

Documentation & Technical Support
  • Coordinate with the Facility Manager and teams to maintain quality of all work process systems, and assist in documentation of standard work and training
  • Provide technical product assistance when required, supporting project coordination, engineered products, and sales through preparation of documentation such as product-specific engineering submittal drawings and manufacturing procedures
  • Ensure documentation and data entry align with quality and standard work

Floor Presence & Safety
  • Maintain a strong presence on the production floor, actively engaging in daily manufacturing operations
  • Abide by all company safety rules, regulations, and policies
  • Attend all assigned safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions

WHAT YOU BRING
  • B.S. degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or other solid modeling software
  • Demonstrated ability in process improvement, metric development, and problem-solving
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and analytical approach
  • A quick learner who is self-motivated, with the ability to promptly accomplish tasks with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to accept assignments of all types, including intermittent travel up to 10%
