Role Overview
Mitsubishi Power is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer I - Hot Gas Path Repair in Savannah, GA. The role focuses on providing technical engineering support for turbomachinery components, including thermal barrier coatings, nonconformance dispositioning, process improvement initiatives, work instruction development, and quality compliance. The Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate closely with production teams to optimize processes, improve efficiency, support ISO 9001 requirements, and ensure products meet customer and engineering specifications. Success in this role requires strong technical problem-solving skills, engineering fundamentals, and a passion for continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership.
  • Knowledge of thermal barrier coatings and applications.
  • Knowledge of turbomachinery hot gas path components.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering team with Nonconformance Dispositions.
  • Implement and Review templates, process sheets, and specifications.
  • Implement Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Review and approval of Technical Reports.
  • Create and Maintain Work Instructions.
  • Ensure Proper Documentation in Assembly Area.
  • Support process optimization, automation integration, and removing non-value-added work.
  • Support ISO 9001 audits and compliance efforts.
  • Validate product meets or exceeds internal and customer requirements.
  • Drawing Interpretation and Creation Lift Plan Interpretation and Creation.
  • Lift Fixture Design, and Lifting Equipment Inspection Requirements definition.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement within the team.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university required. 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or a Master's degree preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as industry reports and technical journals.
  • Ability to write technical reports and correspondence including customer reports.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to make judgment decisions based on material specifications or technical requirements.
  • Advanced personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, drawings, programming language, etc.
