About This Role

A versatile childcare staff member, the floater provides support across multiple classrooms and age groups within the childcare center. This role involves moving between classrooms to assist teachers, maintain child-to-staff ratios, supervise children, and ensure smooth daily operations.


What You'll Do
  • Provide support to teachers by covering their breaks and absences
  • Assist with classroom activities and help maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Support transitions and ensure children's physical and emotional needs are met
  • Supervise children during meals, naps, and outdoor play to promote a secure and enjoyable experience
  • Participate in staff meetings and events to stay informed and contribute to the center's success
  • Help maintain the center's state licensing requirements and contribute to a positive and inclusive environment

Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Must complete a satisfactory fingerprint-based background check
  • Minimum Age: 18 years old
  • Maintain a minimum of 10 hours of annual training from Bright From The Start
  • Flexibility: Floaters work with different age groups and classrooms throughout the day
  • Physical Ability: Lifting children, standing for long periods, diaper changing, cleaning, and active supervision
  • Soft Skills: Patience, communication, teamwork, reliability, and ability to adapt quickly

Nice To Haves

The ideal candidate will also possess a willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification, demonstrating a commitment to providing high-quality care and support to children.
