●       About Facility:

o   58 licensed beds

o   No Trauma Designation

o   Radius rule: Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit

●       Unit Information:

o   Beds: 33

o   Minimum Years of Experience required? 18 months PCU exp

o   Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes

●       Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

o   Stroke R/O, PNA, cellulitis, FTT, AMS, CP R/O, Afib, COPD, ect.

●       Patient Ratios:

o   RN: 1:5-1:6

●       Required Licensure & Certifications:

o   RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

●       Skills required:

o   Essential nursing functions, teamwork, communication

o   Experience with traches, cardiac gtt experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, management of central lines

●       Support within the Department:

o   CNA - ADLs, VS, FSBG, Telemetry/Masimo monitoring, assist with ADT.

o   Receptionist/HUC – Most day shifts – Call bell and phone call triage, assist with ADT

o   Charge nurse - mostly without patient assignment

o   Phlebotomy

o   IV/VAT Team

o   Resource Nurse, as staffing allows

o   RT 24/7Yes

o   Hospitalist 24/7 - a Mix of in person and Virtual

o   Telemetry monitoring/tech - Monitored at nurses station and in Central Bunker at AH Cleveland

●       Technology/Equipment:

o   EMR: EPIC

o   IV Pump:  Alaris

o   Med dispensing: Omnicell

o   Monitors: Phillips Telemetry

o   Unit specific equipment: Several fall prevention tools in use, multiple patient positioning tools in use

●       Floating:

o   Within region and scope of practice

o   Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable

▪         Region 3 - Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH)

▪        If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)

●       Orientation (facility and unit):

o   NEO

o   2 days departmental

●       Scheduling:

o   Weekend rotation: every other

o   No call

o   Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays

o   RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours

o   Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks

●       Other notes:

o   Scrub Color: Navy Blue

o   Parking: Free

o   Unit Culture: Close-Knit, teamwork by all, every patient is our patient, high value on patient experience
