Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in managing daily nursing operations within the skilled nursing facility.

  • Promote high-quality resident care, positive clinical outcomes, and resident/family satisfaction.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including CMS and Department of Health requirements.

  • Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.

  • Assist with staff scheduling, staffing plans, and reducing overtime and agency utilization.

  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives.

  • Monitor clinical documentation, physician orders, medication administration, and resident assessments for accuracy and compliance.

  • Conduct nursing rounds and provide guidance regarding resident care concerns.

  • Assist with infection prevention, risk management, and survey preparedness activities.

  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance evaluations of nursing staff.

  • Serve as a clinical resource and leader for all departments within the facility.

  • Provide direct resident care when necessary and support nursing teams during staffing challenges.

  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure excellent resident outcomes.

Qualifications
  • Current and active Indiana LPN or RN license required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Long-Term Care (LTC), Rehabilitation Center, or Post-Acute Care setting preferred.

  • Previous nurse leadership experience as a Charge Nurse, Unit Manager, Nurse Supervisor, ADON, or Director of Nursing preferred.

  • Knowledge of CMS regulations, survey processes, infection control practices, and long-term care standards.

  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.

  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining a resident-centered approach to care.
