Job Title: AEM Solutions Lead / Adobe Experience Manager Lead Developer
Location: Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Duration - 12 months

Job description:

We are seeking an experienced Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Solutions Lead to support a major NYC.gov redesign initiative. The selected consultant will lead AEM development activities related to the NYC Design System and its rollout across guided digital experiences.

This role requires a strong hands-on AEM professional who can design, develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize AEM solutions while also providing technical leadership to development teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain AEM components, templates, workflows, jobs, and integrations.
  • Support the rollout of the NYC Design System across nyc.gov guided experiences.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve AEM-related issues across environments.
  • Manage and optimize Dispatcher configurations, caching, and system performance.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, Cloud Manager operations, automated builds, deployments, and testing.
  • Work closely with architects, product owners, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Follow coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines.
  • Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers.
  • Integrate AEM with third-party systems such as CRM, DAM, analytics platforms, and custom APIs.
  • Monitor application health and implement diagnostics and observability practices.
  • Stay current with AEM features, cloud services, and Adobe Experience Cloud advancements.
Required Skills and Experience
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in AEM development.
  • Strong experience with AEM Sites, AEM Assets, Sling Jobs, and workflows.
  • Expertise in Java, Sling, OSGi, HTL / Sightly.
  • Front-end development experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Strong knowledge of Dispatcher configurations, caching techniques, and performance tuning.
  • Experience deploying websites to AEM Cloud Service and/or on-premises AEM environments.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven, Jenkins, Cloud Manager, or similar DevOps tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting experience in production AEM environments.
  • Experience designing and supporting AEM components, integrations, and web applications.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices and team collaboration tools.
Preferred Skills
  • Adobe Target experience.
  • Adobe Analytics integration with AEM.
  • Akamai CDN experience.
  • Experience with translation tools such as Smartling or TransPerfect.
  • Experience with search engines such as Coveo or Solr.
