Job description

The Opportunity
Adobe empowers everyone, everywhere to imagine, create, and bring any digital experience to life. The Horizon Platform team enables the foundation for Adobe's web-based creative applications. Our mission is to enable Adobe engineers to build high-performance, scalable, AI-powered experiences - faster and with greater confidence.

The Developer Experience (DevX) team treats developers as our customers. We focus on engineering productivity, intelligent tooling, platform reliability, and frictionless workflows. We believe the best products are built when engineers can move quickly, safely, and creatively.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about building AI-enabled development systems, modern web infrastructure, and high-performance tooling that empowers thousands of engineers across Adobe.

If you are excited about combining AI, platform engineering, and developer productivity at scale - we'd love to talk.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement AI-powered developer productivity solutions and workflows that improve developer onboarding, development, code review, testing, debugging, incident triage, documentation, code quality, and engineering velocity.
  • Build and enhance large-scale developer platforms, including Bazel-based build systems, CI/CD pipelines, test automation frameworks, and engineering productivity tooling.
  • Partner with product engineering teams to understand developer pain points, identify productivity bottlenecks, and deliver solutions that improve developer experience, engineering efficiency, and platform reliability.
  • Develop high-performance, reliable, well-tested, and well-documented platform and infrastructure code that enables Adobe engineers to build, test, and deploy applications at scale.
  • Mentor engineers, contribute to engineering best practices, and foster a collaborative environment focused on continuous learning and innovation.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience building scalable applications, developer platforms, tooling, or infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience building, integrating, or operating AI-powered systems that improve software engineering workflows, including developer tooling, code review, testing, debugging, CI/CD automation, incident triage, or other engineering productivity use cases.
  • Experience working in large-scale monorepo environments, including build systems, dependency management, developer tooling, CI/CD workflows, and engineering productivity challenges at scale.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including system design, data structures, algorithms, debugging, performance optimization, and reliability engineering.
  • Experience working in large-scale engineering environments and collaborating across teams to deliver technical solutions.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions and drive initiatives forward.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building AI-powered developer productivity solutions such as intelligent code review, CI/CD triage, test generation, debugging assistants, engineering copilots, workflow automation, or other AI-enabled engineering tools.
  • Experience with agentic AI systems, AI orchestration frameworks, evaluation methodologies, and techniques for improving the reliability and effectiveness of AI-assisted engineering workflows.
  • Deep experience with Bazel, including build optimization, dependency management, remote caching, custom build tooling, and developer workflow automation.
  • Experience developing developer tooling and automation using TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Go, Java, or C++.
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms, build orchestration, merge queues, flaky test detection, release automation, and engineering productivity tooling.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, cloud infrastructure, and platform automation.
  • Familiarity with observability and operational tooling, including OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Splunk, or similar technologies.
  • Experience measuring and improving developer productivity through metrics-driven DevEx initiatives.

What Sets You Apart

  • You are passionate about applying AI to improve how software is designed, built, tested, and operated.
  • You enjoy building tools and systems that help other engineers move faster and more effectively.
  • You can contribute at both the implementation and design levels, balancing technical quality with practical business needs.
  • You proactively identify opportunities for improvement and drive them to completion.
  • You treat developers as customers and seek to improve their daily experience through thoughtful tooling and automation.
  • You elevate those around you through collaboration, mentorship, and technical leadership.
  • You are excited about the evolving role of AI in software engineering and enjoy experimenting with new approaches responsibly.
  • You have a strong bias for action and consistently drive initiatives from concept through delivery.

Why Join Us
You will help define how AI and intelligent tooling reshape the way Adobe engineers build creative software. Your work will directly impact the velocity, reliability, and innovation capacity of Creative Cloud's web platform.
