Job description

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced AEM Technical Architect with strong hands-on expertise in Adobe Experience Manager, AEM Edge Delivery Services, and modern web technologies including Next.js, Node.js, and JavaScript.
This role will be responsible for leading the technical architecture, design, and implementation of AEM-based solutions, with a strong focus on backend development, system integrations, performance, scalability, and modern frontend delivery models. The ideal candidate will have deep AEM backend experience and the ability to guide technical teams while remaining hands-on when needed.
Work Arrangement: The role is primarily remote, with expected travel to Plano, TX once every quarter. Work hours are 7:30 AM CST to 5PM CST.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture, Design & Delivery
  • Lead the technical architecture, design, and delivery of AEM-based digital experience solutions.
  • Architect and implement solutions using AEM, AEM Edge Delivery Services, Next.js, Node.js, and JavaScript.
  • Design scalable, maintainable, and high-performing architectures aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Participate in client-facing technical discussions and provide recommendations on platform strategy and implementation approach.
Backend Development & Technical Leadership
  • Provide strong backend development expertise within AEM, including templates, components, workflows, services, Sling Models, OSGi configurations, and integrations.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Review code, enforce best practices, and ensure adherence to architecture standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to AEM, backend services, frontend delivery, performance, and deployment.
Collaboration & Client Engagement
  • Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, QA teams, and client technical teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Support integrations between AEM and external systems, APIs, middleware, and enterprise platforms.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, solution design documents, architecture diagrams, and implementation plans.
Required Qualifications
AEM & Backend Expertise
  • Strong hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Manager as a developer, technical lead, or architect.
  • Deep backend development experience with AEM, including Java, Sling, OSGi, JCR, workflows, and custom services.
  • Experience with AEM Edge Delivery Services / EDS.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise-grade AEM solutions.
Modern Web & Integration Experience
  • Strong experience with Next.js, Node.js, and JavaScript.
  • Strong understanding of modern web architecture, component-based development, API integrations, and performance optimization.
  • Ability to lead technical design discussions and provide hands-on technical guidance to development teams.
Delivery & Communication Skills
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with client stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Plano, TX, five days per week.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AEM as a Cloud Service.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Cloud products and integrations.
  • Experience with headless or hybrid AEM implementations.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven, Jenkins, cloud deployment models, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Experience supporting large enterprise or high-traffic digital platforms.
  • Prior consulting or client-facing delivery experience.

What We're Looking For
