Rockford Nephrology Associates is seeking a compassionate, organized, and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our growing team. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced nephrology providers to deliver outstanding care to patients with kidney disease while helping ensure a smooth and efficient clinical experience.

What You'll Do

As a Medical Assistant, you'll provide both clinical and administrative support to physicians and the care team, helping deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during office visits and procedures.

  • Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and other clinical information accurately.

  • Complete chart preparation and perform final chart review prior to patient visits.

  • Coordinate laboratory testing, obtain test results, communicate physician instructions, and notify patients of results as directed.

  • Prepare patients for diagnostic testing and assist with office-based procedures.

  • Answer patient phone calls promptly and professionally, addressing questions or routing concerns appropriately.

  • Schedule appointments and assist with patient coordination as needed.

  • Complete referrals and authorizations for procedures when requested.

  • Maintain medication sample inventory and monitor medical supply levels.

  • Ensure patient records are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

  • Provide excellent customer service while creating a welcoming and positive patient experience.

  • Support and mentor team members as requested by the Office Administrator.

  • Assist with additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Travel Requirements

This position requires approximately 25% travel to support our satellite clinic locations, including:

  • Rochelle, IL

  • Beloit, WI

  • Dixon, IL

  • Sycamore, IL

Mileage reimbursement is provided in accordance with company policy.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant certification program.

  • Minimum of two years of Medical Assistant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong clinical and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy outpatient environment.

  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office.

  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and maintaining patient confidentiality.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between clinic locations.
