Job description

Fracsys Inc is seeking a DBA Lead (With Active Clearance) to join our team in Washington DC! You will be responsible for managing a team of DBA's to maintain Relational databases that include Oracle, Sybase, mssql server, AWS RDS, PostgreSQL.  The DBA manager will be providing database advisory and consulting services for the enterprise.  The selected candidate along with other DBA's will maintain the integrity, security, and availability of multiple mission-critical databases. Duties include but are not limited to performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, monitoring of data, and disaster recovery. The selected candidate will administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database. She/he will evaluate and recommend available database management system products and will support database and software lifecycle activities to ensure the highest level of system performance, availability, and compliance with business requirements is met. She/he along with other DBA's will perform Oracle, SQL Server, and SYBASE Database and Application server administration and will organize and format data for efficient query and storage processes.
Responsibilities:

  • Manage the team of DBA's and assign tasks to the team
  • Represent the DBA team in IT leadership meetings and provide any required guidance to Jr DBA's.
  • Administer, test, and implement computer databases
  • Coordinate changes to computer databases
  • Implement security measures to safeguard computer databases
  • Monitor performance space on servers and databases
  • Respond to database problems and escalations
  • Provide trend analysis and reporting
Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in database administration or other related fields
  • Experience with relational databases, such as Sybase, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS,  MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
