LOCATION: Huntsville, AL (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)

TRAVEL: Less than 10%

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to join the Huntsville team on a hybrid schedule. The HR Coordinator will provide administrative support for the Human Resources function, assisting with a variety of HR activities including onboarding/offboarding, HR administration, and benefits. This position will be responsible for maintaining employee files and records, supporting HR processes, and assisting employees with general inquiries related to HR programs, policies, procedures, and services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources or related administrative roles.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive material/information as a requirement of this position.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Experience with HRIS systems preferred.
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Facilitate onboarding and offboarding activities including paperwork, HRIS data entry and coordination with other departments.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation sessions and ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
  • Work with payroll, IT and hiring managers to ensure new hire has IT, email, timesheet and other important items on first day of hire.
  • Process all new hire compliance related activities, such as E-Verify, I-9, Background investigations, drug testing and more.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HRIS data.
  • Prepare HR-related documents, such as employment verification letters, status change forms, and termination paperwork.
  • Primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and other HR-related matters.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Process and track HR related items such as Tuition Reimbursements, Employee Referral Bonuses, transfers and promotions.
  • Support HR audits and compliance initiatives as needed.
