Position: Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical and Graduate Life Sciences (Pharmacy Administration)

Department: Pharmaceutical and Graduate Life Sciences

Target Hire Date: July 2026


Build a rewarding academic career while shaping the future of pharmacy education at Manchester University! We are seeking a dedicated and scholarly 10-month, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Pharmaceutical and Graduate Life Sciences (Pharmacy Administration). This is a regular faculty position focusing on the social and administrative sciences within the School of Pharmacy. In this role, youโ€™ll educate and mentor future pharmacists, contribute to meaningful scholarship in pharmacy administration or health outcomes research, and engage in shared governance that influences program growth and innovation.


What You'll Do:

Teaching (60%)

  • Teach pharmacy social and administrative sciences courses in on-campus and distance formats

  • Collaborate on curriculum development and innovative teaching strategies

  • Deliver instruction in introductory pharmacy, population health, and practice management courses

  • Integrate timely, relevant topics and assess learning to support continuous improvement

Scholarship (20%)

  • Conduct and contribute to scholarly work in social and administrative sciences

  • Pursue external funding and disseminate research through publications and presentations

  • Collaborate and mentor scholars as appropriate

Service (20%)

  • Mentor pharmacy students

  • Participate in faculty governance and committee service

  • Support departmental and college initiatives and professional organizations

  • Contribute to a collaborative and supportive departmental culture


What You'll Need:

  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or terminal degree in pharmaceutical science with a focus on social and administrative sciences.

  • Credentials that support appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (rank is commensurate with experience and credentials).

  • Understanding of current pharmacy education and practice, especially pharmacy administration.

  • A commitment to interdisciplinary education in health sciences.

  • Effective communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.

  • Ability to adapt to changing teaching and learning environments and content-delivery methods.

  • Proficiency in basic computer use (word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail, internet).
