Express Employment is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bi-Lingual Human Resources Administrative Assistant to support the HR operations of a fast-paced manufacturing facility in Van Wert, Ohio. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and Spanish, possess strong interpersonal skills, and have a passion for supporting people-centric processes. This role is pivotal in facilitating communication, maintaining compliance, and ensuring a seamless employee experience across all levels of the organization.
Position Overview:
The Bi-Lingual HR Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in supporting daily HR functions, including employee onboarding, data entry, compliance documentation, payroll support, and employee relations. This individual will serve as a critical liaison between English- and Spanish-speaking employees, ensuring clear communication and a positive workplace environment. The position requires exceptional organizational skills, a strong sense of confidentiality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, manufacturing-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Support & Administration
  • Assist with all facets of the employee lifecycle including onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes.
  • Prepare, process, and maintain accurate personnel files, HR documentation, and compliance records.
  • Support payroll preparation by collecting and verifying timekeeping data, attendance records, and PTO requests.
  • Assist with the coordination of benefits enrollment, open enrollment, and benefits-related questions.
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews, pre-employment screenings, and new hire orientations.
  • Provide administrative support for performance evaluations, policy updates, and disciplinary documentation.

Employee Relations & Communication
  • Act as a bilingual liaison to bridge communication between management and Spanish-speaking employees.
  • Translate HR documents, policies, and communications from English to Spanish as needed.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, including recognition programs, events, and surveys.
  • Respond to general HR inquiries and provide guidance on company policies and procedures.

Compliance & Recordkeeping
  • Ensure all HR documentation is completed accurately and in compliance with federal, state, and company requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor laws, safety protocols, and HR best practices.
  • Support audits and reporting by preparing and organizing necessary records.

Qualifications:
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal) is required.
  • 2+ years of administrative experience, preferably in an HR or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse teams.
