POSITION OVERVIEW

Every product is shaped through thoughtful strategy, disciplined execution, and a commitment to delivering meaningful consumer and business impact.

The Senior Manager, Product Marketing (Golf Accessories) leads the global adidas Golf Accessories category across golf bags, gloves, trim, and related accessory products. This role translates consumer, market, athlete, and commercial insights into multi-season category strategy, portfolio architecture, and product briefs that drive profitable growth, product credibility, and a consistent global range.

The Senior Manager serves as the senior category integrator across Product Marketing, Design, Product Development, Materials Development, Go-to-Market, Commercial, Finance, and Markets. This role leads the Accessories Product Marketing team, establishes category priorities, and strengthens the ability of the Carlsbad creation team to own and deliver the core global Accessories business.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Global Category Strategy: Own the multi-year, annual, and seasonal global Accessories strategy across golf bags, gloves, and related categories in alignment with Golf and Brand priorities.

Portfolio Direction: Set consumer priorities, range architecture, franchise direction, price tiers, segmentation, and product lifecycle plans across the global Accessories portfolio.

Consumer and Market Insights: Translate consumer, athlete, competitive, and marketplace insights into clear product opportunities, briefs, and category decisions.

Investment Priorities: Recommend category investment, innovation, and resource priorities to Product Marketing leadership and relevant Golf leadership forums.

Global Range Management: Define the core global range while enabling appropriate Market input and locally relevant supplemental needs.

Financial Performance: Partner with Finance, Commercial, and Markets to establish and manage category targets including net sales, margin, volume, article count, pricing, and inventory productivity.

Business Analysis: Monitor sell-in, sell-through, margin, forecast, adoption, and competitive performance to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and initiate corrective actions.

Portfolio Decision Making: Balance brand, consumer, cost, margin, capacity, and timeline considerations when making category and portfolio recommendations.

Commercial Readiness: Support seasonal sell-in through compelling category narratives, product presentations, and decision-ready business updates.

Product Creation: Lead the Accessories category from strategic brief through concept, development, commercialization, launch, and lifecycle management.

Seasonal Direction: Establish seasonal briefs, milestone expectations, decision criteria, and category priorities across Product Marketing, Design, Product Development, and Materials Development.

Category Trade-Offs: Resolve significant product, cost, quality, timeline, and range trade-offs in partnership with cross-functional teams.

Executional Excellence: Ensure product data, range information, samples, and milestone deliverables are complete, accurate, and delivered on time.

Innovation: Drive the Accessories innovation agenda across product construction, materials, functionality, sustainability, and consumer experience.

People Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop the Product Marketing Accessories team while establishing clear objectives, priorities, and accountabilities.

Stakeholder Leadership: Build alignment across global and Market stakeholders when priorities differ and escalate material issues when appropriate.

Category Expertise: Serve as the global Accessories category expert and primary point of contact for senior cross-functional partners.

Creation Team Collaboration: Establish ways of working that strengthen collaboration across the Carlsbad Product Marketing, Design, Product Development, and Materials Development teams.

Category Accountability: Own category strategy, portfolio recommendations, product briefs, assigned budget, category performance, and team delivery within approved Golf and Product Marketing direction.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

University degree in Business, Marketing, Product Management, Merchandising, or a related field.

8+ years of progressive experience in product marketing, category management, merchandising, product creation, or a related discipline.

Demonstrated experience owning a category or meaningful multi-product portfolio across global or multi-market scope.

Experience leading cross-functional product creation and commercial planning from strategy through commercialization.

Strong expertise in global category strategy, product marketing, merchandising, and product creation.

Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing portfolio performance, margin, pricing, and other key business metrics.

Ability to translate consumer, athlete, market, and competitive insights into clear product briefs, portfolio choices, and business decisions.

Strong cross-functional influence, communication, and decision-making skills within a complex global matrix.

Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and drive alignment across functions and Markets.

Working knowledge of golf bags, gloves, soft goods, materials, construction, and supplier capabilities.

Advanced Microsoft 365 skills, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.

Fluent English, written and spoken.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

People leadership experience with responsibility for coaching, development, prioritization, and team performance.

Experience in golf, sporting goods, bags, gloves, accessories, or related soft goods categories.

Experience developing multi-season category, portfolio, and product lifecycle strategies.

Experience partnering with Finance and Commercial teams to establish and manage category financial targets.

Experience working with Product Development and Sourcing partners, Creation Centers, suppliers, vendors, or innovation partners.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position follows the adidas hybrid work model and is based in Carlsbad, California. Employees are expected to work in the office Monday through Thursday, with flexibility to work remotely on Fridays. In-office attendance may be required on Fridays when the work requires a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation.

The role operates in a fast-paced, highly collaborative global product creation environment with regular engagement across functions, Markets, suppliers, vendors, and external partners. Travel may be required to support business priorities, product creation milestones, supplier engagement, and other key category activities. The working language for this position is English.


REPORTING STRUCTURE

This role operates within the adidas Golf Product Marketing organization and partners closely with the Senior Director Product Marketing. The Senior Manager leads the Product Marketing Accessories team and is accountable for establishing clear priorities, developing team capability, and driving category execution.

The position has significant cross-functional exposure across Accessories Product Marketing, Design, Product Development, Materials Development, Go-to-Market, Global Brand Marketing, Sports Marketing, Commercial, Finance, Planning, Sourcing, Market category teams, Creation Centers, Consumer Insights, athlete services, testing partners, suppliers, vendors, and innovation partners.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $131,560 - $148,500.

Actual salary will be based on various factors, including a candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.

Employees are eligible to earn an annual bonus based on both company and personal performance.
