Job description

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Drive Emerson-wide projects from start to finish including project planning, prototype creation and component design ensuring engineering requirements are met for handoff to production
  • Determine which parts make sense to produce via additive manufacturing by looking at engineering and business constraints
  • Assist with determining additional technologies or support systems that are needed to make additive manufacturing successful at Emerson
  • Evaluate processes and systems for the efficient creation of parts via additive manufacturing
  • Document lessons learned throughout the creation of parts being produced using Laser Powder Bed Fusion

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering 
  • General experience with additive manufacturing or 3D printing
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent documentation and organization skills
  • Ability to present across cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work well with teams to solve complex problems
  • Ability to work independently and proactively on given projects
     

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Industrial Technology
  • Junior or Senior Class Standing
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Experience with 3D CAD systems, Siemens NX or SolidWorks
  • Experience with 3-D modeling design 
  • Additive manufacturing lab experience  
  • Additive manufacturing experience with Laser Powder Bed Fusion
  • Experience with ASME 14.5, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications
  • Previous experience with manufacturing, especially machining and welding technologies
  • Material engineering experience
