This position is primarily onsite at our hospital-based facility, where you will engage with patients directly within a supportive team environment. The clinic utilizes an integrative model that combines medical treatment with counseling and psychological support, allowing staff to collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. You will be responsible for managing a patient caseload of approximately 16-20 individuals daily, emphasizing effective communication and teamwork.

• Conduct comprehensive medical assessments and evaluate patients’ physical and mental health to establish individualized care plans that address the unique challenges faced by each patient.
• Monitor and manage withdrawal symptoms utilizing established protocols such as the Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment (CIWA) and the Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS).
• Prescribe and adjust Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) medications under the supervision of a physician, ensuring patients receive safe and effective pharmacological support.
• Recognize and address co-occurring disorders, implementing appropriate interventions within the treatment plan to enhance recovery outcomes.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHRs) to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, streamline patient care management, and facilitate communication among team members.
• Collaborate closely with medical staff, counselors, and social workers to develop coordinated care strategies that maximize the patient’s recovery journey.
• Provide mentorship and support to junior staff and fellows, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

• Active Physician Assistant (PA-C) license in California, demonstrating compliance with state requirements for practice.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field along with a minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in addiction treatment or mental health.
• A DEA license, NPI number, and Board of Pharmacy License are required.
• Strong commitment to patient-centered care and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Experience in addiction medicine or psychiatry, particularly in settings that utilize MAT protocols.
• Knowledge of current addiction treatment trends and evidence-based practices.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and healthcare compliance practices.
