Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a dedicated
Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP or FNP) to provide integrated medical and psychiatric care for individuals recovering from
substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. In this role, you will work closely with the Medical Director and interdisciplinary treatment team to support patient stabilization, recovery, and long-term wellness.

Practice Environment
- Work alongside an experienced Medical Director and multidisciplinary behavioral health team
- Provide integrated care for patients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders in a structured inpatient treatment setting
- Collaborative environment with nursing, therapy, and clinical support staff focused on patient stabilization and recovery
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Assessment & Patient Care
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including medical history, physical exams, and psychiatric evaluations.
- Diagnose and treat behavioral health conditions, including substance use and co-occurring disorders.
- Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical findings.
- Prescribe and manage medications and other therapeutic interventions in accordance with approved protocols.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment strategies as appropriate.
Medical Collaboration
- Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, nurses, and interdisciplinary treatment teams to support coordinated patient care.
- Communicate patient status, treatment updates, and clinical recommendations to the Medical Director.
- Participate in case reviews and treatment planning discussions.
- Order diagnostic tests, review lab results, and coordinate referrals to medical specialists when needed.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the EMR.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support infection control practices and patient safety protocols.
- Provide clinical information to Utilization Review teams to assist with determining appropriate levels of care.
Qualifications
- Active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (ARNP) license in Florida
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in addiction treatment or inpatient psychiatric care.
- Experience treating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary behavioral health treatment team
