Job description

The Marketing Outreach is responsible for developing and implementing strategies in order to achieve budgeted goals for the facility. The Marketing/outreach is responsible for developing and managing systems, particularly the referral development of our service. He/She is also responsible for working with the Executive Director and staff to assure exceptional patient and community satisfaction. The marketing/outreach will be responsible for a team to educate the public of Detox MD and its value to the community as well as personal goals and growth of the company.
Employee will be responsible for the following:
  • Meets an established quota of contacts for the development of the monthly business plan.
  • Utilizes a benefit-focused approach when conducting a needs assessment of the business plan.
  • Develops and provides professional/community education programs to support referral development
  • Meet with CEO or Service Director to go over referral sources to maintain a standard of patient care.
  • Confront CEO or Service Director with any issues that may hinder the growth of Detox MD.
  • Develop a quality book of business to insure and maintain incoming patients from reputable sources.
  • Implements specific relationship-building strategies of key referral groups (i.e. clinicians, judicial).
  • Works with CEO and or Service Director to develop and implement direct promotional strategies.
  • Attends staff meetings and Performance Improvement meetings.
  • Work as a team player.
  • Present leadership skills in a diverse way when needed.
  • Assists in special projects.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintains current CPR certification.
  • Attends in-services meetings when required by CEO or Service Director.
  • Maintains open communication with corporate staff, center staff, physicians, clinicians, and referral sources.
  • Responds positively to changing situations in the work setting.
  • Demonstrates objectivity and maturity under stress.
  • Understands and adheres to all policies regarding client rights, as well as anonymity and confidentiality of all clients past and present.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the CEO or Service Director.

Skills needed
  • Knowledge of resources within the addiction community, including behavioral health facilities, drug and alcohol treatment centers, long term care facilities, IOP facilities ect.
  • Willing to use personal phone and internet to connect with potential and current resources.
  • Comfortable working with a team and delegating task.
  • Confident with public speaking and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing and able to learn the inner workings of Detox MD to properly promote and educate others of our service.
  • Demonstrates high proficiency in all computer related applications - Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Excel, Frontpage and able to learn Photoshop, etc.
  • Knowledge of the 12 steps is a plus but not required.
  • Competent in both written and oral communication.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction.
  • Confident leaving voicemails, and speaking to potential referrals and resources via phone.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Violence and knowledge of safe de-escalation.
  • Comfortable talking and meeting new people.
  • Drug free workplace policies.
  • Ethical Knowledge.
  • Basic understanding of addiction.
  • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Willing and able to take calls and answer emails outside of working hours and at home.
  • Working phone and internet.
  • Ability to represent Detox MD in a professional manner at all times.
  • Able to remain punctual.
