Job Description:
The Coordinator of Former Player Engagement supports LSU Athletics' efforts to build and maintain meaningful, long-term relationships with former student-athletes and L Club members. This position serves as a key point of contact for former players, coordinating engagement opportunities, events, communications, recognition activities and game-day experiences that strengthen connections between former student-athletes and LSU Athletics. The Coordinator also provides operational and administrative support for L Club initiatives, select alumni and letterwinner events, and game-day activities involving the Athletics Director and senior leadership.
50% Support L Club activities by assisting with events, communications and letter awards. Provide planning and on-site operational support for letterwinner and alumni events in select sports (as assigned), including venue, catering, registration, set up/tear down and attendee communication. Maintain communication timelines and ensure recipient lists, dates, links and event details are accurate. Maintain former player contact, membership, event attendance and engagement information. Assist with the distribution and tracking of letter awards in select sports, including verifying recipients and maintaining accurate fulfillment records. Coordinate with sport staffs to resolve missing information and follow up on unclaimed awards. Maintain Basecamp entries, event calendars, planning documents, checklists, shared files and outstanding action items as assigned.
30% Serve as liaison to former players, including maintaining connection/networks with former student-athletes in identified sports. Ensure Athletics Director and AD Cabinet members are informed regarding former player outreach and are engaged in support activities as appropriate. Host former players and/or their families on game days and during assign Athletics and/or campus events. Collaborate with Senior Associate AD/Health and Wellness to support activities related to Tiger Legacy Care. Assist in identifying support services as needed and fostering former player engagement in those services.
10% Coordinate game day arrangements for and/or host visitors of the AD during home games and events as requested by AD, Executive Deputy AD/COO, and/or Athletics Chief of Staff. Additional projects and duties as assigned by AD, Exec Deputy AD/COO or Sr. Associate AD/SWA.
10% Maintain continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations. Advance and support LSU and Athletics Department initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities, as well as participation in the creation of a respectful culture consistent with the values of LSU and its Athletics Department; Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with one year of experience in athletics administration, alumni/former player relations, event management, hospitality, communications, development, or a related field; Demonstrated experience coordinating events, programs, or activities involving multiple stakeholders; Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with former student-athletes, coaches, administrators, donors, guests and other constituents; Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects, timelines and priorities simultaneously; Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion.
