Summary of Position:

The Santo Domingo Pueblo Library provides an essential service to the community of all ages – including a wide range of print and digital material, access to computers, online resources, and services that inspire curiosity for lifelong learning. Incumbent in this position will work in collaboration with the library staff and be responsible for the coordination and facilitation of activities and events within the library to support literacy, inquiry, engagement, imagination, and creativity. Incumbent will work directly with patrons and the community for input and feedback.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with minimum of 2 years' experience working with youth and/or tribal communities.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Self-motivated with flexible ability to effectively work as part of a team.
  • Extended working hours, including weekends, may be required.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a background check and new hire drug screening
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with ability to meet Santo Domingo Pueblo's liability insurance requirements and maintain eligibility for insurance.
  • Fluent in Keres language preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform some programming duties outdoors in suitable weather conditions.
  • Physical dexterity to reach shelves of various heights, and occasionally lift, pull, push, or transport equipment and furnishings not to exceed 30 lbs.
  • Visual acuity to read standard office documents and 10-point font.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English.
