Summary
Coordinate and implement an on-going program of educational and recreational activities designed to meet the interests and the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of senior adults.
Part Time SCHEDULE for this position is: Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Job Duties
Organize and implement a series of nutritional, educational and recreational aging services and activities using a multitude of facilitators and meeting venues.
Design and facilitate client travel plans to local and state events and facilities. Collect and record travel fees and secure transportation from public and private sources.
Regularly operate senior center van to transport clients to local events and activities.
Work with representatives from public and private entities such as universities and colleges, healthcare providers, civic groups and other entities that offer information and services of value to senior center clients.
Identify and coordinate volunteer efforts to provide specific client services and activities.
Update senior center with seasonal decorations.
Provide direct assistance to facilitate congregate meal process and other nutritional programs.
Initiate ideas, develops and implements fundraising events.
Recommend Adults Protective Services to supervisor or management for suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation of senior clients.
Assist senior adults with mobility devices to board and alight from a vehicle, and to secure their mobility devices inside the vehicle.
Generate flyers and marketing materials to promote senior center activities and events in the community.
Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines at all times to insure privacy of client records and information.
Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or G.E.D.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the minimum level of qualifications stated above.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
CPR certification desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bilingual (English and Spanish) skills desirable.
Knowledge of Microsoft applications to include: Excel and Publisher
Ability to organize, motivate, and effectively utilize volunteer staff.
Ability to gain the trust of senior center clients.
Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
Ability to multitask and recall specific client and activity information.

This position is classified as safety-sensitive. Incumbent will be subject to random drug/alcohol testing.
