Key Responsibilities
- Program Leadership: Implement scheduled group and one-on-one activities that foster social interaction, physical engagement, and cognitive stimulation for our residents.
- Resident Engagement: Spend meaningful time with residents, assisting with mobility and encouraging active participation in community activities within a long-term care setting.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate attendance records and monitor resident engagement, reporting key behavioral or emotional observations to the interdisciplinary nursing team.
- Event Coordination: Work alongside the Activities Director to plan creative seasonal events, themed activities, and facility holiday decorations.
- Logistics & Organization: Set up and break down activity areas, ensure supplies are well-maintained, and manage activity inventory.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience working in an activities or therapeutic recreation role within a long-term care, skilled nursing, or senior living facility.
- Training/Background: An artistic background or previous instruction from a Certified Activity Consultant preferred.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead group activities and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, assist with resident movement, and maintain a high-energy workflow throughout the day.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build quick rapport with residents, families, and staff.

- Composure: Ability to maintain a warm, positive attitude, exercise sound judgment, and remain calm under pressure.
