Job description

Assist with the Lifestyle Director in the planning and coordination of programs and activities that are varied, reflect the interests, values, and beliefs of the residents, and provide life-enriching opportunities for residents and the community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in the Development and promotion of an Activities Program designed to promote the residents’ active involvement with each other, their families, and the community providing social, physical, intellectual and recreational activities in a planned, coordinated and structured manner.

  • Assist in the Preparation of monthly community newsletter.

  • Preparation of monthly community activity calendar.

  • Assist in obtaining a historical and interest profile for each resident.

  • Assist in actively developing and implementing a volunteer program for resident activities.

  • Coordinate with caterers, entertainers, decorators and others for scheduled events.

  • Complete annual training and or any other training deemed necessary by Lifestyle Director or management.

  • Facilitate socialization among residents.

  • Chaperone activities outside the community.

  • Drive the Company van for residents’ activities.

  • Participate actively in marketing on combined events.

  • Participate as directed in the leasing & marketing process for potential residents.

  • Assist and help with the decorating of the community for special events, seasons and holidays.

  • Conduct yourself professionally and contribute to, service-oriented environment through their appearance, communication, and interactions with residents, families, visitors, and colleagues.

  • Any other tasks, assignments, projects or requests as deemed by management or the Lifestyle Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 25 years of age, or older

  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all background screening requirements permitted by applicable federal, state, and local law.

  • Must have a valid driver license and clean driving record.

  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

  • Must demonstrate professionalism, empathy, patience, and effective interpersonal skills when interacting with residents, families, visitors, and team members.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with some college preferred.

  • Experience working with seniors is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, transferring, and assisting residents as required by the position.

  • Must be able to squat, reach, and stretch without distress.

  • Must be able to tolerate extended periods of walking and standing.
