Your Mission

Activision Central Technology is seeking a passionate Software Engineer, Automation & Data to build scalable automation platforms, developer tools, and data solutions that help us take our cutting-edge games to the next level.

Automated testing is a core part of our engineering ecosystem. In this role, you'll design and build the software, tooling, and infrastructure that powers automated testing, enabling developers to efficiently collaborate and iterate on compelling gameplay while increasing overall test coverage.

We run a multitude of online services that require highly scalable infrastructure, and we're looking for an engineer to build internal platforms, automation services, and production-ready tools that support game development across the organization.

If you're passionate about building software, developer tools, automation frameworks, telemetry systems, and data pipelines, this opportunity will allow you to have an impact on games played by millions of fans around the globe.

As a Software Engineer, Automation & Data, you will work closely with Engineering and Quality Engineering teams to design and develop software solutions that improve automation at scale. You'll build and maintain internal tools, automation frameworks, stress-testing systems, and telemetry solutions while collecting, visualizing, and analyzing data to improve product quality.

Hybrid:

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, and the home studio for this role is Santa Monica, CA.

What You Bring to the Table

The video game industry and therefore our business is fast-paced and will continue to evolve. As such, the duties and responsibilities of this role may be changed as directed by the Company at any time to promote and support our business and relationships with industry partners. Therefore, this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with automation and data engineers to enhance, evaluate, and scale automated testing features.

  • Improve tools and workflows for efficient test development, data analysis, and debugging.

  • Support Activision studios globally in designing automation strategies and developing automated tests to identify defects.

  • Analyze results, increase automated coverage, and maintain infrastructure for performance, stability, and data integrity.

  • Create tools to boost QA productivity, research new techniques, and work with QA leadership to plan and evolve processes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with automation and data engineers to design and build scalable automation platforms and testing infrastructure.

  • Improve internal tools, automation frameworks, and developer workflows for efficient test development, data analysis, and debugging.

  • Support Activision studios globally by developing automation solutions and engineering tools that help identify product defects.

  • Analyze results, increase automated coverage, and build scalable infrastructure for performance, stability, and data integrity.

  • Create engineering tools and automation services that improve development and QA productivity while partnering with engineering leadership to evolve automation capabilities.

Minimum Requirements
Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years' of programming experience with Python, and C++ or C#

  • Proficiency programming with SQL

  • Experience developing test frameworks

  • Proficiency in data engineering and analytics

  • Experience working in a distributed systems environment

  • Experience working within gaming

Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of online services, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure

  • Deep grasp of computer architecture, networks, and operating systems

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $79,200.00 - $146,504.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
