Job description

A global food distribution company in the Secaucus, NJ area is looking for Human Resources Generalist. This is a full-time, direct hire position.


Human Resources Generalist Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage and maintain recruitment, on-boarding, off-boarding activities
  • Conduct interviews, phone screenings and give insight on hiring decisions afterwards
  • Communicate with employees and management regarding disciplinary meetings, termination and investigations
  • Address employee’s concerns regarding policies, benefit and other HR related matters
  • Keep accurate log and documentation for HR purpose such as (new hire documents, training, termination documents and so on)
  • Ensure and review policies to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations and suggest best practices
  • Liaise with legal professional if the needs arise
  • Keep track of current trend, best practices, regulations, new technologies in HR regarding employment law
  • Process payroll, vacation, attendance, FMLA, workers compensations and so on
  • Other duties as needed


Human Resources Generalist Representative Requirements Include:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field is preferred for this role
  • Experience in food industry preferred
  • Fluency in English is required, any knowledge in Asian language would be a plus
  • Strong leadership skills in team environment and skills to bring positive atmosphere to the team
  • Ability to be flexible to work effectively with wide variety of people and to work responsibly and effectively in a multicultural environment
  • Excellent communication (Speaking, Writing, Reading, Listening) and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task and perform duties time efficiently
  • Team-worker, Detail-oriented, Responsible, Punctual, Self-motivated
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision
