Job description

Logistics Support

Functions, Duties, Tasks:

  • Manage transport planning and documentation for domestic and international shipments, ensuring compliance with export/import requirements. Communicate shipment status to the R&D Project teams, and proactively resolve any delays or disruptions.
  • Act as the primary contact for logistics providers and internal partners to resolve shipment issues, including delays, damages, or capacity bottlenecks.
  • Communicates the coordination of and instructions for shipping and receiving of materials with the R&D Project Team,
  • Coordinate domestic and international pickups with suppliers and freight forwarders. Track and manage domestic and international shipments from origin to delivery point.
  • Successfully maintains the R&D Logistic HUB records concurrently with shipment activity, and electronically files supporting documents required for regulatory retention requirements.
  • Trains on and follows R&D, Global Logistics, and International Trade and Compliance procedures and requirements.
  • Compiles and prepares import/export documents
  • Manage custom clearance activities in close collaboration with team, where needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field (or High School Diploma / GED with equivalent level of experience)
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Manufacturing Operations
  • Strong understanding of import/export regulations, and logistics planning processes
  • Proficiency with shipment tracking platforms and/or shipping software (e.g. World Courier, FedEx, DHL).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments at once. Aptitude to prioritize workflow in order to use time effectively.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations in order to calculate transit times, dimensions, and other transport related data.
  • Capacity to recognize when action is necessary and to implement the required actions within a reasonable time in order to manage potential delays or exceptions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel and Outlook.
  • Certification for both 49CFR and IATA
