Job description

Job Title: Proposal Manager

Location: Herndon, VA - Hybrid Remote

Citizenship: US Citizenship Required

AttainX, Inc. is in search of a dynamic and experienced Proposal Manager to join our team. This position will be responsible for supporting the delivery of winning proposals to facilitate the expansion of our customer base. The individual in this role will provide some assistance with proposal writing for the company’s proposal process in response to U.S. government requests for proposals (RFPs). The candidate must have the ability to meet deadlines, a commitment to teamwork and ensuring proposals are in accordance with requirements and detailed follow-through will be the key to success in this role.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years’ experience in government contract proposal development.
  • Able to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment
  • High level of customer service, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Highly motivated self-starter and problem solver.
  • Enthusiastic team contributor and supporter.
  • Familiar with government contractor environment and protocol with a working knowledge and understanding of complex government and military contracts.
  • Must have an understanding of proposal compliance, including experience analyzing solicitation instructions, evaluation criteria and work statements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate the necessary personality and leadership skills to engage and motivate a diverse group of engineers, project managers, consultants and subcontractors is required.
  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
  • Exceptional facilitation and organization skills are required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work with various team members to identify potential opportunities and implement process of proposals.

Job Duties:

  • Support all phases of the proposal process in response to commercial and U.S. government solicitations (Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotes (RFQs), Requests for Information (RFIs), etc.).
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assist with writing and editing assigned proposal sections.
  • Utilize industry research tools to gather background research and customer intelligence.
  • Create proposal timelines and support adherence to proposal schedules.
  • Issue assignments to team members.
  • Support Capture Manager and/or Lead Proposal Manager to coordinate daily proposal management activities, including development of work plans, schedules and action items.
  • Prepare all supporting proposal development documentation (outline, team assignments, proposal management plan, schedule, kick-off meeting materials, storyboard templates, writing plans, etc.).
  • Create compliance matrices and proposal outlines and track/report proposal progress against those outlines, lead color team reviews for proposal strategies.
  • Support coordination of proposal team activities on a daily basis, including regular proposal status meetings.
  • Review and analyze RPFs and related documents and align proposal responses accordingly.
  • Monitor government communications and government responses, updating requirements accordingly.
  • Monitor and guide the activities of the copy to support content providers, as needed.
