Job description

Position Summary:
Shine Counseling is seeking a passionate and skilled Child and Family Therapist to join our growing team. This role focuses on providing therapeutic support to children (primarily ages 0-9) and their families, helping them navigate developmental, emotional, and relational challenges through compassionate, culturally responsive care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual, family, and/or play therapy to children and their caregivers
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical assessments
  • Collaborate with schools, medical providers, and other community supports
  • Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and training opportunities
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation using an EMR system
  • Uphold ethical and professional standards in all aspects of care delivery

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field
  • Active Oregon license (or associate registration) as an LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or equivalent
  • Experience providing therapy to children and families
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and family-centered care
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in clinical documentation and use of electronic medical records (EMRs)
  • Must pass a background check and meet all requirements for working with vulnerable populations

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Specialized training or experience in early childhood development (ages 0-5)
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices such as play therapy, PCIT, DBT, EMDR, or CBT
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities
  • Knowledge of community resources and family systems
