Job Title: Acoustical Ceiling Mechanic
Location: Raleigh, NC

Your Role at Acousti
As an Acoustical Ceiling Mechanic, you will play a critical role in the installation of acoustical ceiling grids and tiles on commercial and government projects. Your expertise and dedication will ensure that each project is completed to the highest standard of quality and precision.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
  • Read and interpret project blueprints to determine job requirements
  • Inspect drywall partitions, mechanical mountings, and masonry surfaces for plumb and level using a laser or water level
  • Hang or mechanically fasten support wires for acoustical ceiling grids from building structures
  • Install acoustical ceiling main runners and cross runners, ensuring proper alignment and fit
  • Nail or screw molding to walls and seal joints between ceiling tiles and walls
  • Scribe and cut edges of tiles to fit where wall molding is not specified
  • Measure and mark surfaces to layout work according to blueprints and drawings
  • Cut tiles for fixtures and borders using keyhole saws and insert tiles into supporting frameworks
  • Operate scaffold, aerial lifts, ladders, stilts, and other equipment as needed
  • Use powder-actuated tools and lasers to complete installations
  • Work both indoors and outdoors as project requirements dictate
  • Maintain construction schedules and phasing to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager

What We're Looking for in You
To succeed in this role, you should have:
  • 4 to 5 years of commercial acoustical ceiling installation experience (required)
  • Proficiency with materials, methods, tools, and plans/layouts/prints involved in acoustical ceiling installation
  • Tools and reliable transportation to project sites
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and stand or walk for up to 8 hours per day
  • The capability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to pass a drug test and background check

Education Requirements
Preferred: High School Diploma
