What is an ACMI job?

An ACMI job refers to a position in the aviation industry related to Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance (ACMI) leasing. In this type of leasing arrangement, an airline (the lessor) provides an aircraft along with crew, maintenance, and insurance to another airline (the lessee) for a specified period. ACMI jobs can include roles such as pilots, flight attendants, maintenance personnel, and operations managers responsible for ensuring leased aircraft operate smoothly. These roles often involve flexibility, international travel, and working with multiple airlines.

What does a typical workday look like for an ACMI?

A typical workday for an ACMI involves inspecting, testing, and certifying aerial munitions to ensure they meet all safety and quality standards. Documentation and reporting are also key aspects, as accuracy is vital for compliance with regulations. You can expect a structured environment, often on military bases or defense contractor sites, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and adherence to detailed procedures.

Is it hard to get hired at a museum?

The difficulty varies depending on the position and the institution's hiring process.
