Job description

Nippon Rent A Car department (NRC) is responsible for the handling and processing rent-a-car reservations and agreements

while deliveringย excellent customer service.ย 

Pay Range:ย  $17.00 - $22.50 / hour

Primary Responsibilities:ย  Provide customer service for Rent-A-Car reservations and walk-ins. ย Inform customers of the rental policy and answer any questions regarding the services.

Handle customer inquiries such as availability and cost of vehicles.

Process and complete rental, sale of rent-a-car and optional products.

Resolve and report any concerns and issues, as well as assist with emergency situations.

Basic Revenue tracking and marketing data processing for daily report.

Other Duties:

  • Attend meetings, training classes, as needed.
  • Perform any other multi-task duties within company as assigned by General Manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High school graduate;
  • Possess at least one (1) year customer service experience.
  • Able to speak, write, and read in English and Japanese.
  • Possess working knowledge of basic computer systems, application programs, e-mail and standard office equipment.
  • Possess valid Hawaii drivers license, with clean abstract

Working Conditions:

Working Hours

  • Normal business hours: ย 7:00am - 6:30pm, Sunday โ€“ Saturday, including holidays;
  • Up to 40 hours per week (full-time), up to 20 hours per week (part-time); must be able to work a flexible schedule; may be required to work split shifts at same/different locations.
  • Travel between various locations by on foot/vehicle. ย Subject to varying weather conditions including but not limited to, air conditioned office, noise, dust, fumes and vehicle exhaust.

  • Able to work cooperatively with others and deal constructively with conflict;
  • Able to exercise self-control and handle stressful situations;
  • Able to work with alertness, attention to detail, and handle multiple tasks.
  • Able to process information quickly to assist staff in other areas.

  • Occasional โ€“ pushing, pulling/carrying less than 25 pounds, walking, stair climbing, bending, crawling, kneeling, stooping, climbing, forward and overhead reaching, side bending, twisting, grasping, handling, finger dexterity;
  • Seldom โ€“ pulling 25 pounds to more than 50 pounds, lifting more than 50 pounds, running, crouching;
