Job description

Hortons Ace Hardware is looking for friendly, motivated Sales Associates to join our team. If you enjoy helping people, solving problems, and being part of a community-focused business, we’d love to meet you. At Ace, we’re more than a hardware store—we’re neighbors helping neighbors.

Our Sales Associates don’t just sell products—they help customers solve problems. In this role, you’ll assist customers throughout the store while supporting daily store operations including stocking, merchandising, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them throughout the store
  • Help customers find solutions for home improvement and hardware projects
  • Deliver personalized service with the goal of “Amazing Every Customer, Every Time”
  • Maintain strong knowledge of store products and layout
  • Handle customer questions and escalate concerns to management when needed
  • Answer store phones and pages promptly and courteously

Store Operations

  • Receive, check in, and stock merchandise
  • Maintain organized shelves, displays, and back stock areas
  • Assist with merchandising, seasonal resets, and promotional displays
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized sales floor and stockroom
  • Ensure signage and pricing are accurate
  • Participate in team meetings and support store initiatives

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Retail, hardware, or trade experience helpful but not required
  • Friendly, outgoing personality and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Willingness to learn about hardware products and home improvement solutions
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry merchandise up to 50 lbs
