Job description

About the Role:
Accudata is looking for an experienced and driven Tax Manager to join our team in San Diego, CA. This is an exciting opportunity to lead tax engagements, mentor staff, and play a key role in delivering exceptional service to a diverse client base. If you thrive in a collaborative environment and have a passion for tax strategy and compliance, we want to hear from you. This role will be onsite for the first six month with hybrid options after you are completely onboarded.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize client tax liabilities
  • Oversee and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance and performance feedback
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a primary point of contact
  • Research complex tax issues and communicate findings clearly to clients and leadership
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess impact on clients and firm processes
  • Assist with IRS and state tax notices, audits, and correspondence
Requirements:
  • CPA license required; active and in good standing
  • 5+ years of public accounting experience with a focus in tax
  • Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state tax compliance and planning
  • Experience managing client engagements and supervising professional staff
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., UltraTax, ProSystem fx, or similar)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's in Taxation a plus
