Job description

The Pasadena branch of Meador Staffing has partnered with a local Deer Park company to add an Accounts Receivable Clerk to their team! The Account Receivables Clerk will provide support to the accounting team with preparing, verifying, and posting transactions. The Account Receivables Clerk will perform routine clerical, filing, and data entry tasks for accounting data. The Account Receivables Clerk will assist in ensuring that the company receives payment for goods and services offered to clients. The

Account Receivables Clerk will be working closely with the Accounting Department and others

to complete the necessary clerical work for accurate accounting practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Create workbooks based on the most recent proposal provided by the sales team, distribute to the team, and sign off on the project folder.

  • Review workbooks for accuracy daily and revise as needed.

  • Complete Track allocations.

  • Update and maintain cost tracker current.

  • Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.

  • Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers.

  • Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent account holders to

request payment.

  • Creates reports regarding the status of customer accounts as requested.

  • Collaborates with the Collections Manager to reconcile accounts receivable on a periodic (at least bimonthly) basis.

  • Assists in reconciling revenue accounts each month.

  • Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed.

  • Relays changes of information to appropriate employees.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or bachelor's degree in

accounting preferred.

  • 1-2 years' experience in accounting or Bookkeeping training preferred
  • Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into computer software and systems.
  • Basic mathematical skills.

  • Good verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers
