Job description

Robert Half Management Resources is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager for a long-term contract engagement. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can oversee a high-volume, complex AP function while managing and developing a team.

Key Responsibilities

•Oversee end-to-end accounts payable operations in a multi-entity, high-volume environment

•Supervise, mentor, and develop AP staff; manage daily workflow and performance

•Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing, payment runs, and vendor management

•Lead process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and strengthen controls

•Maintain and enforce internal controls, policies, and audit compliance

•Resolve escalated vendor and internal stakeholder issues

•Partner with Accounting and Finance leadership on month-end close and reporting

•Assist with system optimization and support ERP/AP automation tools

Qualifications

•7+ years of accounts payable experience, including direct supervisory/management experience

•Proven experience managing complex AP operations (high volume, multiple systems/entities)

•Strong understanding of AP best practices, controls, and compliance

•Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)

•Advanced Excel skills and process improvement mindset

•Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities

Preferred

•Experience in fast-paced or transforming environments

•Background supporting system implementations or process redesign


• Experience in accounting or finance with the ability to support a range of operational and reporting responsibilities.

• Strong working knowledge of month-end close procedures, journal entry preparation, and general ledger maintenance.

• Demonstrated ability to complete account reconciliations and identify issues affecting financial accuracy.

• Familiarity with financial statement audits and preparing documentation for audit review.

• Ability to adapt quickly, manage shifting priorities, and work effectively across multiple accounting functions.
