Inside Sales/Account Associate - Specialty Chemicals

The Account Associate develops and grows business with existing and new customers by providing knowledgeable, science-based support and solutions. This role focuses on building strong customer relationships via phone and electronic communication, understanding customer needs, and offering technical solutions that align with their requirements. The position is ideal for a science graduate who enjoys problem-solving, collaborating with others, and communicating technical concepts in a clear and engaging way.

Responsibilities

  • Grow business with existing customers through proactive outbound calls and electronic communications, focusing on deepening relationships and increasing sales.
  • Expand the customer base by identifying, qualifying, and converting new leads through lead qualification and cold calling activities.
  • Handle inbound inquiries from customers and prospects, including product questions, literature requests, and sample requests, ensuring prompt and accurate responses.
  • Conduct surveys in support of sales and marketing programs to gather customer feedback and market insights.
  • Document all customer interactions, sales activities, and follow-ups in the CRM system to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including other account associates and account managers, to align on customer strategies and ensure a consistent customer experience.
  • Understand customer needs and challenges and clearly explain technical solutions that address their requirements.
  • Participate in training and mentoring programs to build product knowledge and enhance sales and technical support skills.
  • Provide technical support to customers by leveraging a strong foundation in science to explain product features, benefits, and applications.

Essential Skills
