Accounting Assistant
We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and exceptionally detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our CPA firm in providing accounting, bookkeeping, tax, and client service functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a commitment to accuracy when handling financial information and client records.
This position requires an individual who can manage multiple deadlines, maintain confidentiality, identify discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy of financial data. The successful candidate will work closely with accountants and CPAs to assist with bookkeeping, tax preparation support, financial reporting, and client communications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Bookkeeping and Accounting Support
• Record and maintain client financial transactions in accounting software.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and loan accounts.
• Review financial records for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual bookkeeping services.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules as directed.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical client files.
• Assist with account analysis and reconciliation workpapers.
Tax Preparation Support
• Organize and review client tax documents.
• Assemble tax return workpapers and supporting documentation.
• Enter tax-related financial data accurately into tax software.
• Verify information for completeness and consistency.
• Track outstanding client information requests.
• Assist with tax return assembly and delivery processes.
• Maintain accurate records of client submissions and filing deadlines.
Client Service and Administrative Support
