PAY RANGE: (Minimum - Midpoint)
System Support Analyst I: $54,400 - $68,000
System Support Analyst II: $66,600 - $83,200
Sr System Support Analyst: $84,500 - $112,600
Lead System Support Analyst: $99,500 - $132,600
Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Additional hours as required.
Position Summary:
The Systems Support Analyst -Evergy Energy Partners (EEP) will provide business systems, process, and analytical support for Evergy Energy Partners' power marketing and trading operations across the front, middle, and back offices. This position serves as a key liaison between business users, portfolio and product leadership, and IT, ensuring that trading, risk, and accounting teams are supported with reliable systems, efficient processes, and actionable information.
Under the direction of the Manager, EEP Systems and Support, the Systems Support Analyst will review business processes and data for inefficiencies, recommend and help implement improvements, document and manage process and system changes, and provide Level 1 and Level 2 support. This role combines business analysis, system configuration, testing, documentation, and end user support, with a focus on disciplined execution, continuous improvement, and high-quality service to EEP stakeholders.
Summary of Primary Duties:
• Develop and maintain "As Is" and "To Be" business process documentation for front, middle, and back office workflows.
• Support continuous improvement efforts, including standardization and simplification of trading, risk, scheduling, settlements, and reporting processes.
• Collaborate with appropriate leaders to review / triage incoming requests and issues.
• Work with customers to gather functional requirements, write clear acceptance criteria, and assist the development team in translating requirements into technical specifications.
• Manage and maintain application configurations, including low code / no code configurations, reference data, and user preferences as approved by product leadership.
• Work with IT and vendor teams to understand technical design and ensure that business needs are accurately reflected.
• Own the lifecycle of test cases, including creation, maintenance, execution, and traceability to requirements.
• Perform solution testing and validation and/or coordinate testing with super users, including determination of the appropriate level of testing rigor based on change risk.
• Document test results, defects, and retest outcomes and work with IT to ensure timely resolution.
• Execute post release production validation to confirm that solutions function as intended.
• Assist in preparing content for release notes and end user communications for system releases.
• Develop and maintain training artifacts such as user guides and quick reference materials.
• Support execution of change management and training plans.
• Schedule, prepare, and deliver training for new functionality, process changes, and onboarding.
• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for EEP systems, serving as an initial point of contact for end users, troubleshooting issues, recreating problems, and ensuring accurate severity/priority assignment.
Education and Experience Requirement:
A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field is preferred. Direct experience may be substituted for education; preference for experience related to functional design and implementation of computer systems and software implementations, trading and risk management systems, or front/middle/back office operations in a trading organization. Experience working with trading, risk management, or energy market systems (e.g., ETRM platforms) is preferred. Experience delivering application support, business analysis, or systems support in an energy, financial, or trading environment is preferred. Demonstrated experience working as a team player, exhibiting strong communication skills, customer service, and a focus on process improvement is required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:
• Knowledge of relevant technology and tools used to implement computer systems.
• Ability to review and improve business processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend solutions supported by data and analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including root cause analysis and the ability to interpret structured and unstructured data.
• Ability to express complex business concepts in clear documentation, including requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and training materials.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non technical stakeholders.
• Constructive thinking to analyze, interpret, and evaluate data or issues and process them in an accurate and high quality manner.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, sometimes high stress environment, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adjust priorities as needed.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in teams, build relationships across functions, and provide high quality customer service to business partners.
• Ability to resolve routine or standard problems to resolution, with limited guidance and direction.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams). Experience with reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) is preferred.
• Ability to query data from various data sources (SQL) is preferred.

Must possess a valid driver's license.
