Job description

Are you an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a trusted, detail-oriented role that supports real estate operations, private investments, and Family Office activities?
DSI Real Estate Group is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead accounting and financial reporting for managed properties, designated investments, and Family Office-related financial activities. This role is ideal for a strong accounting leader who values accuracy, confidentiality, thoughtful reporting, and the opportunity to support ownership in both day-to-day operations and long-term financial decision-making.
The Accounting Manager will oversee core accounting functions, provide clear and timely financial reporting, support investment and cash flow planning, coordinate with outside professional advisors, and help strengthen processes across the accounting function.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversee accounting operations for DSI, managed properties, designated investments, and Family Office activities, including general ledger activity, rent collection, tenant billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, CAM reconciliations, cash management, and related reporting.
  • Prepare and review accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including month-end reporting packages, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, account reconciliations, and ownership/investor reporting.
  • Support Family Office accounting needs, including investment activity, intercompany transactions, liquidity planning, global cash flow schedules, special projects, and financial reporting for ownership.
  • Provide timely financial information and analysis to leadership, property managers, ownership, outside investors, bankers, and other stakeholders.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, tax preparation, internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial analysis.
  • Coordinate with outside professionals, including accounting firms, tax preparers, attorneys, bankers, investment advisors, and other service providers.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff through regular one-on-one meetings, task review, process improvement, performance planning, and ongoing coaching.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, financial systems, reporting accuracy, controls, and overall department effectiveness.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism when handling ownership, investment, and Family Office financial information.
The successful candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of accounting experience, with experience in real estate, family office, investment accounting, or private ownership environments preferred.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing accounting staff.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, property accounting, AP/AR, tenant billing, CAM reconciliations, cash management, and investment-related reporting.
  • Experience working with ownership groups, family offices, investors, outside accounting firms, tax preparers, attorneys, bankers, investment advisors, and other professional partners.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and confidentiality skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and accounting software systems.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and provide accurate reporting in a fast-paced, high-trust environment.

This is an opportunity to step into a meaningful accounting leadership role that supports both real estate operations and Family Office financial activities. We offer a competitive wage and a full benefits package upon eligibility, as well as a positive, team-oriented work environment. Interested and qualified candidates are welcome to apply.
