Accounting Specialist

Starting Pay: $50,353.41 / year

Schedule: Full-time, Exempt

Location: Hybrid eligible after 90 days

Certified Spanish or Somali proficiency may qualify for additional pay.

What Youโ€™ll Do

As an Accounting Specialist, youโ€™ll play a key role in supporting the financial integrity of First Alliance Credit Union. Youโ€™ll work behind the scenes to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and smooth daily accounting operationsโ€”helping the organization make informed decisions and stay compliant.

In this role, you will:

  • Analyze & Reconcile โ€“ Prepare journal entries, perform complex reconciliations, and ensure general ledger accuracy.
  • Report & Support โ€“ Assist with financial reporting, audits, NCUA call reports, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review & Improve โ€“ Identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities to strengthen processes and controls.
  • Coordinate & Collaborate โ€“ Partner with the Accounting Manager and team to keep workflows on track and meet deadlines.
  • Guide & Share Knowledge โ€“ Serve as a technical resource, supporting team members with training, troubleshooting, and best practices.
  • Process & Maintain โ€“ Handle wires, investments, and accounting system updates with precision and care.
