Job description

Kearney and Company is seeking a Solution Architect to join our team and bridge the gap between accounting/finance stakeholders and technical development teams to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and customer needs. In this role, you will act as a liaison between accounting stakeholders and development teams by gathering requirements, translating them into technical specifications, guiding development, and ensuring delivered solutions meet business needs.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Partner with accounting/finance stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements
• Translate functional needs into technical designs, user stories, and specifications
• Lead the design and implementation of data solutions
• Provide clear, actionable directions to junior developers
• Review and validate technical solutions to ensure alignment with business intent
• Strong understanding of USSGL accounts and performing business analysis using General Ledger data
• Act as a communication bridge, translating technical outcomes back to non-technical stakeholders
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field
• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in auditing, accounting, data analytics, financial management, or related areas.
• Strong experience translating accounting and audit functional requirements into technical solutions that can be understood by developers with limited business experience
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities and communicating project objectives, milestones, and results to stakeholders.
• Expertise in performing analysis on general ledger and financial reporting data.
• Experience with the DoW's War Data Platform (previously Advana), DoW ERP systems (e.g. Navy ERP, Defense Agencies Initiative) or similar data platform.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience using Python, PySpark, SQL or other programming languages
• Understanding technical aspects of projects data structures, systems integration, and workflows
• Must have at minimum an active Interim Secret Clearance
• Ability to work in-person 2 days per week in the Alexandria, VA area
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with the Department of the Navy, United States Marine Corps, Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI)
• Familiarity with Palantir Foundry including but not limited to Ontologies, Workshop Applications, Pipelines, and Data Health Checks
• Experience designing queries for analysis using multiple subledger tables from ERP systems (e.g. using Purchase Order [PO] Header, PO Line, PO Distribution, and Payables Tables to analyze procure to pay transactions)
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and integrating data from various on-premises and cloud-based sources

The expected salary range for this position is between $103,000 and $180,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
