Accounting Data Analyst

Step into a role where your analytical skills directly shape business decisions. As an Accounting Data Analyst, you'll turn complex sales and financial datalike commissions, rebates, and key performance metricsinto meaningful insights that drive accuracy and impact. You'll collaborate with teams across Accounting, IT, Sales Operations, and Operations to ensure data integrity, streamline reporting, and improve processes. From supporting the month-end close to uncovering opportunities for efficiency, you'll play a key role in keeping financial operations running smoothly while helping the business grow smarter and faster.

Collect, analyze, and interpret sales and financial data to identify trends, variances, and actionable insights

Develop, maintain, and distribute reports and dashboards covering sales performance, commissions, rebates, and key financial metrics, including executive-level reporting

Perform account reconciliations related to sales, commissions, rebates, and customer accounts as part of the month-end close process

Manage and maintain the commissions inbox, providing timely customer service to rep agencies by responding to inquiries and resolving discrepancies

Maintain accurate sales and commission-related data within systems (e.g., sales rep structures, commission agreement setups, region IDs), ensuring alignment with financial records

Assist with accounts receivable and sales-related metrics, including tracking collections, aging, and performance trends

Assist with audit requests by preparing supporting schedules, documentation, and reconciliations

Identify and recommend process improvements (automations) to enhance reporting efficiency, data accuracy, and cross-functional workflows

Ensure data integrity and accuracy across systems, reports, and financial outputs

Support the broader accounting team on an as-needed basis, contributing to projects, analyses, and cross-functional initiatives

Performs other duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics or related fields

Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in accounting, data analysis, or a related field preferred

Basic understanding of accounting principles, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and chart of accounts

Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., IFS or similar) is preferred

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, Power Query & VBA)

Experience with data analysis tools such as SQL and/or Power BI is preferred

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights

High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills

Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain data and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, as well as strong communication and "managing up" skills

Understanding of sales-related financial processes, including commissions, rebates, and revenue reporting

Ability to: Work with large data sets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness while handling sensitive and confidential information with a high level of discretion

Manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Identify process improvement opportunities and support the implementation of more efficient workflows

Work both independently and collaboratively, take ownership of assigned processes from start to finish

Plan, direct, coordinate, evaluate, and improve the work of others

Communicate effectively in person, cross-functionally, over the phone, and in writing, using proper English grammar, spelling, and style.

Interpret, apply, explain, and ensure compliance with applicable Company policies and procedures
