Job description

SumBridge is hiring an Accounting Specialist to join our Seattle-based client in a permanent position on their accounting team. The role offers stability, competitive compensation up to $75k annually, and excellent benefits. The Accounting Specialist will work in a hybrid schedule with 2 days from home and 3 days in the Seattle office where they offer free onsite parking.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and support administrative and accounts payable duties in the office
  • Manage and organize employee benefits & annual census
  • Ensure billing is routed to the appropriate entity
  • Ensure appropriate approvals and GL coding is completed
  • Assume responsibility for the timeliness of payments
  • Reconcile bank and vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies
  • Complete credit applications for new vendors
  • Manage company credit cards and monthly reconciliations
  • Disburse required paperwork to new hires and review for completion
  • Process employment eligibility verifications through Form I-9
  • Generate & file year end 1099 forms
  • Manage office supplies inventory and place orders as necessary
  • Receive and sort incoming mail and deliveries, and manage outgoing mail
  • Identify opportunities for process and office management improvements, and implement new systems as needed

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2+ years of prior work experience in a financial/office management role or associate degree in business or related field
  • Must have exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities
  • Must have bookkeeping and/or accounts payable experience.
  • Preferred experience with NetSuite, Bill.com, or other automated payments software
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products, intermediate Excel skills
