We are a real estate management company overseeing a diversified portfolio of more than 30 commercial and residential properties throughout the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area. We areΒ seekingΒ a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day accounting operations and administrative processes.Β 

Position SummaryΒ 

The Accounting Assistant will provide hands-on support across accounts receivable, accounts payable, payment processing, reconciliations, and accounting documentation. This is a full-time, on-site role suited for someone who is organized,Β accurate, comfortable with recurring accounting tasks, and interested in building practical experience in a real estate accounting environment.Β 

Key ResponsibilitiesΒ 

  • AssistΒ with accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) activities.Β 

  • Process invoices, payments, checks, deposits, and related transaction documentation.Β 

  • Enter andΒ maintainΒ accounting data accurately in internal systems and accounting software.Β 

  • AssistΒ with bank reconciliations and review supporting transaction records.Β 

  • Organize, scan, file, andΒ maintainΒ accounting and property-related documentation.Β 

  • Prepare supporting schedules, files, and documentation for tax and reporting processes.Β 

  • Follow established accounting procedures andΒ assistΒ with routine follow-up items.Β 

  • Provide general accounting and administrative support as needed.Β 

QualificationsΒ 

  • Education or experience in Accounting, Finance, Business, orΒ a relatedΒ field is preferred.Β 

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.Β 

  • Comfortable working with routine transaction processing and documentation.Β 

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and standard office applications.Β 

  • QuickBooks or other accounting software experience is aΒ plus, butΒ notΒ required.Β
