Location:New York, NY (Hybrid: 4 days in office, Fridays from home)

A prominent law firm in New York is seeking a highly experiencedAccountantto support the firm'sControlleracross key finance operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting. What You'll Do:Accounts Receivable / Billing
  • Process and manage client billing, ensuringaccuracy and timeliness.
  • Review and editpre-billsper attorney instruction and client guidelines.
  • Identify and resolve errors in time entries or disbursements.
  • Prepare final bills and cover letters;post bills upon approval.
  • Follow up with attorneys regardingbilling timelinesand collection issues.
  • Maintain special billing arrangements and monitortrust balances,WIP, andunapplied cash.
  • Reconcile client accounts and send reminders as needed.
  • Conductbank reconciliationsand daily deposit tracking.
  • Generate and analyzebilling and collections reports.
Accounts Payable
  • Code and process invoices, expense reports, and check requests.
  • Reconcilevendor statementsand resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Preparebatch check runsand respond to internal/external inquiries.
  • Maintain and organize accounting files and assist in improving the A/P process.
General Accounting
  • Assist withGL entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial reports.
  • Support the Controller in the day-to-day operations of theAccounting Department.
  • Provide administrative support to ensureaccuracy and organizationof all financial documentation.

What You'll Bring:
  • 10+ years of accounting experience, preferably within alaw firm or professional services environment.
  • Solid background inbilling, A/P, A/R, and general ledger accounting.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, andproblem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency inMicrosoft Excel and accounting software(QuickBooks, Elite, Aderant, or similar platforms a plus).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountingor Finance is highly preferred (not required).
  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to grow with the firm as it continues to expand.
