Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
Supports cost and inventory accounting activities for assigned product lines by reconciling SAP, source system reports, and supporting schedules; researching discrepancies; preparing journal entries; and assisting with month-end close activities. Prepares schedules and supporting data for financial reporting, audits, tax return preparation, J-SOX, Stravis, and other reporting requirements. Provides cross-functional accounting support to other teams, including fixed assets, accounts receivable, and license payment processing.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Account Reconciliation: Reconciles activities between SAP, source system reports, and supporting schedules for assigned product lines, including inventory purchases, accounts payable, inventory relief, cost of sales, sales, liabilities, and accounts receivable. Researches discrepancies and prepares adjusting journal entries.
  2. Month-End Closing: Prepares month-end close schedules and supporting reports for assigned product lines, including inventory roll-forward schedules and other related schedules. Prepares recurring monthly journal entries as assigned. Assists with gathering supporting information for financial audits, tax return preparation, J-SOX, and other reporting requirements.
  3. Cross-Functional Accounting Support: Supports other accounting teams and functional areas as needed, including general ledger activities related to fixed assets, accounts receivable, and license payment processing.
  4. Price Table Maintenance: For the CV business, including production, maintains the database for FOB and additional costs. Updates price tables timely and accurately and investigates and resolves any pricing errors. Maintains close communication with the business side for the table updates.
  5. Miscellaneous: Performs miscellaneous duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
  • Reports to: Cost Accounting Supervisor

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, emphasis in Accounting
  • Minimum two years' similar or progressive level of cost accounting analysis experience in a comparable fast-paced multi-product line environment

KNOWLEDGE:
  • Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
  • Thorough understanding of the concepts associated with multiple system data

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Applications; Excel and Word mandatory
  • Ability to use SAP applications and Excel-based financial software applications
  • Ability to extract, analyze, reconcile, and manipulate large data sets
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work at a detail level and understand the "big picture"
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

PHYSICAL STANDARDS:
The employee must be able to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer. This is primarily a sedentary position in a controlled office environment which requires only occasional reaching, stooping, and lifting of office files, reports, or records, typically weighing 5 lbs. or less.
PAY SCALE:
The pay scale for this position is between $72,398 and $90,497. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
This position is a long-term contract role.
