Job description

Position Details:

Location San Francisco, CA 94105

Type: 6 Month Contract (can be extended or converted)

The Accounting Manager will lead and manage key month-end and quarter-end close activities across operational accounting areas, including cash, fixed assets, accruals, and other general accounting functions. This role will oversee close execution, review team deliverables, and help drive scalable and efficient accounting operations in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

The ideal candidate brings strong close management experience, sound accounting judgment, and the ability to lead a team through complex and evolving business needs while maintaining high quality and operational discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage month-end and quarter-end close activities across cash, fixed assets, accruals, and other operational accounting areas
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analyses, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Manage and develop a team of accountants, providing coaching, prioritization support, and performance feedback
  • Drive close execution and ensure deliverables are completed timely and accurately
  • Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Treasury, AP, Procurement, IT, and other business stakeholders
  • Identify process improvement and automation opportunities to enhance scalability and reduce manual work
  • Support implementation and optimization of accounting systems, controls, and operational workflows
  • Maintain strong documentation, controls, and audit readiness across owned processes
  • Support quarter-end reporting and analytical review processes
  • Participate in transformation and operational excellence initiatives as the company continues to scale

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting and/or industry experience in a high-growth environment
  • Prior experience managing teams and reviewing close work required
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and operational accounting processes
  • Experience managing accounting areas such as cash, accruals, fixed assets, and general close activities
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite preferred
  • Process improvement and automation mindset strongly preferred
