Job description

Sun Valley is looking for an organized, efficient Accounting Clerk with an eye for detail and a high level of accuracy. This role will be responsible for preparing financial reports, issue checks and making deposits, and ensuring that Accounting office operations are running smoothly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and processing cash payments, making change and balancing cash receipts, balancing the vault, Preparing bank deposits and assisting with weekly cash machine deposit
  • Uploading reports and reconciling daily sales, cash overshorts, and discrepancies
  • Assisting with monitoring funds, setting up and training employees, fixing jams
  • Maintaining accurate records of cash transactions, recording cash on reports, and assisting with other audit needs, sorting credit card and room charge receipts, and research guest disputes or inquiries
  • Assiting with entering Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables for condo associations, preparing bank deposits
  • Maintaining daily credit card spreadsheets, researching credit card disputes, travel agent commissions and other tasks as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Applicable degree in Accounting preferred, or at least 1-2 years of relatable work experience
  • Strong ability to perform calculations and manage financial transactions
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and manage cash effectively, have strong attention to detail, organized, ability to identify and resolve discrepancies, acute problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and other relevant software, experience in excel, intermediate preferred
  • Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and infrequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
