Description
The School of Business at St. Bonaventure University is seeking applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Accounting. We welcome candidates with teaching and research interests in one or more of the following areas: financial accounting and/or accounting theory. Consideration will be given to candidates for Professor rank. Candidates at the Professor Rank with strong credentials may be eligible for an endowed chair or professorship.
Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D., from an AACSB accredited institution in the field of accounting at the time of hire, along with extensive industry experience.
  • Candidates must be an outstanding scholar with an international reputation for excellence in research, teaching, and service, along with clear indications of continued research.
  • Qualify as Scholarly Academic (SA) by institutional AACSB standards with 3-5 years teaching /research experience in an AACSB recognized University
  • Candidates should have an active research program demonstrating capacity for high level research and have an excellent record of classroom instruction Evidence of ability to produce original and innovative scholarly research
  • Candidate must be able to teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level, both face to face and online
  • Ability to effectively teach financial accounting, accounting theory

Preferred Qualifications
  • An active CPA license with experience in public or private accounting
  • 10+ combined years of service in academics and/or public accounting
  • Prior teaching experience in a post-secondary educational setting
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology in creating and delivering course content
  • Online teaching experience
  • Candidates should demonstrate interest or willingness in teaching financial accounting, accounting theory and graduate-level accounting coursework will be viewed favorably.
