Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our accounting team. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this position will play a key role in supporting month-end close activities, cost accounting functions, financial reporting, and ongoing accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and post journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Support costing activities, including inventory, labor, and manufacturing cost analysis
  • Analyze variances and assist with reporting on operational and financial performance
  • Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and internal management reports
  • Support inventory accounting and periodic inventory reconciliations
  • Collaborate with operations and management teams to ensure accurate cost tracking
  • Assist with audits and provide requested documentation
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience required
  • Experience with month-end close and cost accounting strongly preferred
  • Manufacturing or industrial industry experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
